Tutor Center
Most, if not every, campus has a tutor/learning center. Your campus will often have a location where you can receive tutoring in various subjects. Some colleges also have virtual tutoring. Examples of tutoring locations and services are:
As a tutor, I would see students come in disliking mathematics, having high anxiety about tests, and experiencing a lot of self-doubt.
However, during our tutor sessions and those with other tutors, these students began to better understand each concept involved in a complex math problem. Over time, these students became more comfortable with the subject and did better on their exams.
Look for help at these centers and you could find the extra support that gets you that passing grade you need, or even an A+. Visit your college’s website to find a list of those available at your college. These services are free. A few, however, specialized ones, such as MESA mentioned above, will be limited to those in particular courses and programs. Sometimes, there are limits to the number of visits, while other times visits are unlimited. Be sure to sign in with your student ID when you arrive, because this lets the school know the resource is being used and the center will continue to be funded.
